A great summer read!
Johnny “Buddy” Cordova is a small-town criminal defense lawyer in a sleepy North Carolina town who likes to think of himself as a modern-day Atticus Finch. His life changes when he begins to date Army Widow Julie Saint, and becomes a stepfather to her young daughter, Molly. Buddy can’t believe that all the pieces in his life have finally fallen into place, but all of that changes in an instant when unexpected tragedy hits.
Now, Buddy must take on the role of father and mother to Molly, but their relationship is tested as he must face his past demons that are threatening to take her away. As a love letter to her late husband, Dupré shows the readers how none of the challenges of raising another man’s child matter, as long as you have the unconditional love to support them.
